Storytelling that centers justice.

Documentaries & films

In this docu-series I directed and produced, I embed myself in the lives of Chicago’s gunshot survivors as they recover and heal. In the first episode, I trace the story of Marlon English, who was shot in 2015. I follow his evolution since then and how - for Marlon - to heal oneself is to heal his community.

Kalisha Pettus miraculously survived being shot five times in 2024. But her fight to recover and get back to her safe place – the gym – is far from over. In the second episode of this docu-series centering the voices of gun violence survivors, I follow Kalisha’s fight to live, and her hope.

Told through the voices of children who’ve experienced police abuse, this documentary uses police body camera video to expose the systems that enable racist policing without repercussion, and the generational trauma it leaves behind. I served as a lead writer and supervising producer. This film led to a new law and policy changes. It also earned a Peabody award.

As a lead writer and supervising producer of this Paramount+ true crime docu-series, I investigated the 40-year-old cold case that changed medicine forever. Decades later, the series uncovered missed clues and followed grieving families still fighting for justice.
